PMP Industries can supply cladded rolls for continuous casting segments and HSS rolls for straightening segments of steel plants.
Cladded rolls are manufactured via a multilayer welding process that uses stainless steel wires. Manufacturing relies on automatic welding machines and severe controls. HSS rolls are machined and heat treated through a specific quenching and tempering process.
The cladding technologies used for the manufacturing of the rolls are: open-arc, submerged-arc, MIG/MAG, and the special technologies of ceramic and chromium oxide filling. Every roll is accompanied by a testing report for each critical phase of the production process, in order to guarantee traceability and consistency in performances.
Thanks to its complete range of machines, PMP Industries can offer HSS rolls for slab casting and billet straighteners. Capability to mill/bore structures of over 10m in length, turn structures of over 2m in diameter and move machines of a total weight in excess of 40t allows PMP to deliver single rolls or complete assemblies. PMP is among the few European producers of straightening rolls for section steel, manufactured in tool-grade steel (HSS) with full hardening.
